FAQ

What is trenchless pipe bursting?

Trenchless pipe bursting is an advanced technique used to replace old or damaged underground pipes without the need for extensive digging. The process involves inserting a bursting head into the existing pipe, which is then pulled through the old pipe by a powerful winch. As the bursting head moves forward, it breaks the old pipe apart and pushes the fragments into the surrounding soil. Simultaneously, a new, durable pipe is pulled into place behind the bursting head.

What kind of pipe can be replaced using this method?

We can replace any pipe that is 2” or smaller in diameter.  If you have piping greater then 2" we can still provide a quote using the traditional (digging & trenching) method.

What are the advantages of trenchless pipebursting?
  1. Minimal Disruption: Since trenchless pipe bursting requires only small access points, it avoids the extensive digging and disruption associated with traditional excavation. This means less damage to landscaping, driveways, sidewalks, and other structures.

  2. Cost-Effective: By reducing the need for large-scale excavation and restoration, trenchless pipe bursting can be more cost-effective, especially when factoring in the costs of repairing surfaces and structures after traditional digging.

  3. Faster Completion: The trenchless method is typically faster than conventional pipe replacement, minimizing downtime and inconvenience for property owners. On average a job takes 2 days.

  4. Environmentally Friendly: Less digging means less soil displacement and a smaller environmental footprint. It also reduces the amount of construction debris and waste.

How much does it cost?

Every job varies so contact us today for a free estimate. Trenchless generally has a higher upfront cost when compared to the traditional digging method. However, it is a great solution for homeowners who are wanting to preserve their property (ie. hardscape, landscape) or when they obstacles which may make digging up the line impossible. In situations like this trenchless can save you money in the long-term or may even be your only option.

What if trenchless isn't right for me?

We understand that trenchless may not be the right fit for everyone. If you determine it isn't we would love to give you an estimate for the traditional method (ie. digging and trenching) of pipe replacement.
